The one puppy we lost time had a very mild case of Anasarca - which is a retention of water in the puppy. Extreme cases of this are also called Water puppy. In the case, however, it was mild enough that the puppy looked pretty much normal. However, it did not 'feel' normal. The causes of this condition are not well known, it could be related to a developmental defect with the puppy (many items can cause it). It is not believed to be genetic (inherited).
